Still making, still finding things
Paul Cruse has written, recorded and performed music over many years, while also working across other creative fields. This site brings the musical thread together: finished releases, demos, performances, lyrics, collaborations, old photographs and things rediscovered along the way.
The musical thread started early: experimenting with tape-to-tape recording and sound-on-sound as a child, then writing songs, making recordings and imagining bands, labels and ways of putting music into the world.
That instinct never stayed neatly inside music. Design, publishing, technology and business became part of the same creative life, including Cruse Control and, later, Paul Cruse Music — conceived as more than simply a name to put on Paul's own releases.
Across the years, other musicians, friends, collaborators and unexpected opportunities have crossed that path. Some asked for help; some offered it. The stories and archive preserve those connections without trying to turn them into a tidy mythology.
The aim isn't to turn the past into a museum. It is to make the history accessible while leaving plenty of room for whatever comes next.
